After being consistent and dedicated to my plan for 9 weeks, I had a set-back. Although I’ve been working out hard and dieting (please don’t think I’m eating low-cal!), the scale doesn’t seem to be matching my efforts and it was suggested to me that I may have a thyroid issue. I admit, I have let it affect me a bit but I’m not dwelling on it and I’m jumping right back on the wagon. I’m not letting the wagon get to far ahead of me either. I’m running after it and I’m jumping on even if my feet are dragging off of it!
Whether I have a hormone issue or not, I have to keep eating clean and lifting heavy. I’ve had so many other victories off the scale that I won’t let that “number generator” get to me. I have had more energy, I’ve gotten stronger in the gym, stronger in my resolve, and I’ve become more confident.
Everyone has set-backs for many different reasons, but it’s up to each individual in how those set-backs are handled that will determine future success. I am going to a new Dr. in the next week and will continue to post on how the potential thyroid issue turns out. No matter what…this minor set-back won’t keep me down!
